sunday morning walk

i had a good night at work, i had a real ITU patient and we (those in my pod) had lots of laughs! after the torrential downpours over the past few days, the sun was out and it looked like a lovely summer sunday morning. i pushed myself to skip a taxi and an offer of a ride and walk along the canal to the bus. the walk was lovely starting here

too bad about the graffitti

too bad about the graffitti

i headed  left toward selly oak and my destination of kings norton.

off i go....

off i go....

there were a lot of men, all saying good morning or oiroit bab?…. setting up for a day of fishing although i don’t have a clue what you can catch in a canal…maybe more of a wife avoidance day, methinks…one man said  to me…”shouldn’t you be running?” as a runner went past the other way…i said i just finished a night shift!!!!~~~~~ah, then it’s home and off to bed for you, then??? yep~~~

this running thing…today i noticed that it seems like some people just get dressed in some funny outfits, head out to a trail and as long as they have a slight jogging pose, no matter how slow they are actually moving, they call it running…

case in point…the man in the orange pants…he passed me up, barely…but a short while later i came up behind him….walking! then as i got closer i saw he was dodging puddles and talking italian on the phone….closer still i frustratingly couldn’t get past him as he was too involved in his conversation…so i took out the tacko and well, here he is~~~

orange??

orange??

i had an idea to start a photo blog with just pics from the tacko. i was thinking of taking pics of people from behind because i’m afraid to be confronted if i try to take pictures of people from the front….like the lady who was scurrying between houses while i was waiting at the bus stop in her pink robe and bare feet!!!! maybe mr orange pants will be my first…i was thinking of calling it “brum bums” or “brum from behind” or “the behinds of brum”.

the walk along the canal, as you can see was really lovely…a few boats passing, the joggers and the ducks…very peaceful and quiet. a few times i actually thought this must be the loveliest place on earth…if only it hadn’t poured rain for the better part of the last week…..i did miss getting a pic of a heron…here’s where i get off…

kings norton

i have to go up the stairs to street level and catch the bus…here’s what bus stops look like at 9am on sunday mornings…

good night out?

good night out?

the 45 bus let me down i ended up waiting about 45 minutes…this couple were waiting for the 11C…

no bus yet?

no bus yet?

the sky is sunny though and we are still having sunny spells this afternoon….my british summer motto? at least it’s not raining!!!
