it’s only words

i’m getting used to having my work “refined” by the other people on the team but today after specifically being asked to write a more detailed intro to a survey we are sending out…

i thought i did a pretty bang up job off the top of my head

All Critical Care areas use slightly different equipment, supplies and techniques, the purpose of this survey is to understand the environment in which care is being delivered. As a Quality Improvement project based on qualitative research methods we aim to analyse not only the changes in CVC infections rates but also the factors which may have influenced them and variations between ICUs.

i am really ticked off to see how they massacred my first sentence~~~~i got this copy after it had been sent out to everyone

is it just me or is that just plain grammatically incorrect???

don’t even ask what my boss did to my power point presentation…

  1. It was fine the way you did it. The second way is clumsy because of the word ‘And’ starting a sentence…it would have been ok if they started the sentence ‘The’ and skipped the and! But, yes, I’d say the second version is grammatically incorrect…
